The congregation of St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church in Granby, Colorado is in the process of calling a new rector.  As an integral part of calling a new rector we are taking the opportunity to review our mission, who we are, our spiritual needs, and where we would like to go.
St. John’s is a liturgically traditional church with an average combined Sunday attendance of approximately 53 persons in our primary sanctuary in Granby Colorado, and the Cranmer Memorial Chapel in Winter Park, Colorado, which we sponsor, staff and maintain.  As a resort community we have the benefits and challenges of many dedicated seasonal attendees. 
The ten-member Search Committee was appointed in October of 2011 and is generally following the guidance of the Diocese of Colorado.  Our current actions are focused on developing a good understanding of our collective spiritual needs and wants.  We are collecting information from regular parishioners and all seasonal attendees to both better understand ourselves and provide potential candidates a perspective of the parish community.  We have developed a detailed schedule for the Search using these recommended steps:

• Development and distribution of a detailed survey to collect information on attendee likes, dislikes, and hopes associated with our current spiritual and fellowship activities.
• Conducting informal discussions with members for face-to-face input. 
• Based on the collected information the Search Committee will author a parish “Profile” that delineates the quantitative makeup of the parish as well as our history, facilities, leadership, and ongoing ministries. 
• After completion of the profile, which will be available at this web site, we will receive candidate names and resumes.
• The Search Committee will review candidate information and recommend a minimum of 2 candidates to the St. John’s the Vestry for consideration.
• The Vestry will make their selection known to the Bishop of Colorado for review and, if approved, the Bishop will issue a Call to the candidate.
